Import or create a wallet in Keplr

If you already trade on dYdX or another Cosmos chain, you have a recovery phrase somewhere. Import it so the same address Botely will trade on matches the funds you already have.

If you're new to Cosmos, generate a fresh wallet inside Keplr. Write down the recovery phrase on paper (never in a screenshot or a cloud note) and store it in a safe place. That phrase is the only way to recover the wallet if you lose access.

Click the Keplr icon → "Use recovery phrase or private key". Paste the 12/24-word phrase, set a strong password (used only locally to unlock the extension), and confirm.

Keplr will derive accounts for every Cosmos chain. You'll see your dydx1… address once you've enabled the dYdX chain (next guide).

Click "Create new wallet" in Keplr. The extension generates a 24-word phrase and asks you to confirm a few words back. Write them down by hand before continuing.

Choose a password. This password protects only the local copy of the encrypted phrase inside the browser — it is NOT recoverable. The recovery phrase IS recoverable if you've written it down.

Never type your recovery phrase into any website that isn't Keplr's own setup screen. Botely will never ask for it. dydx.trade will never ask for it.
